Job Description

Position Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of South Florida, Tampa Campus seeks to fill a renewable 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position to begin on August 7th, 2025.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Psychology or a related discipline and be qualified to perform assigned duties by the time of the appointment. The successful applicant must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses (four courses in the fall; three courses in the spring) and will provide additional departmental service. The area of specialty is open, but preference will be given to applicants with interest or experience teaching Psychological Tests and Measurement, Research Methods in Psychology, Experimental Design and Analysis, and Introduction to Psychological Science.

Salary is negotiable. The job posting will remain open until October 18th, 2024. Review of applications will begin on October 21st, 2024. Applications received after October 21st, 2024, may be reviewed and advanced, in cases of compelling merit, up to the conclusion of the search process.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

   Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in the field of Psychology or a related discipline or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience that meet national and/or regional accreditation standards. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.

  Record of teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

   Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, including but not limited to Psychological Tests and Measurement, Research Methods in Psychology, Experimental Design and Analysis, and Introduction to Psychological Science

    History of service commitments

     Record of scholarly work
