RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be engaged in a viable research program. Pedagogical responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, as well as mentoring PhD students. The successful applicant will have service and advising responsibilities at Lang College as well as the graduate school, the New School for Social Research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Should have completed their PhD by the time of their appointment
Have a well-defined and sustainable research program
Assistant-level applicants:
An active program of research with strong potential for excellence
Previous experience teaching at the undergraduate level and supervising students in a research setting is not necessary, but preferred
Commitment to a collegial departmental atmosphere for students and faculty
Associate-level applicants (all qualifications for assistant-level applicants plus):
An active program of research with strong evidence of excellence, including a history of impactful publications and/or successful grantspersonship
An established record of teaching and excellence in mentoring
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position: Faculty are expected to work on-campus due to the nature of the work in accordance with the University policies as set forth in the Full-Time Faculty Handbook.
SALARY RANGE
Assistant Prof. $85K - $100K per annum
Associate Prof. $100K - $120K per annum
