Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University (FSU) invites applicants for the
Conradi Memorial Eminent Scholar, which is an endowed chair. This position is expected to
be filled at the Full Professor level.

This is an open area search and the committee invites applications from innovative and
visionary psychological scientists and neuroscientists who are committed to the research,
mentoring, and teaching missions of our department. The successful applicant will have a
productive, visible, and well-funded research program and a clear vision for achieving even
greater future success. We are also interested in candidates who will build interdisciplinary
connections within and outside the department. The position is open to candidates using
experimental, theoretical, clinical, or computational approaches to address problems in any
area within the field. This position includes a generous startup package and a named chair or
professorship. Review of applications begins October 15, 2024, and will continue a rolling
basis until the position is filled.

FSU is classified as a Carnegie R1 (Highest Research Activities) and ranks in the top 20 of
National Public Universities (US News & World Reports). Candidates will find an outstanding
research infrastructure with scientific colleagues housed in adjacent buildings, and relatively
new laboratory space and vivarium. The department has a fully-staffed electronics and
machine shop and faculty have access to a wide array of resources including a 3T Siemens
Prisma scanner. Our department has a favorable teaching load, a high level of research
activity, and a collegial atmosphere. The University is in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, where residents have access to a broad range of cultural amenities and an abundance of regional springs, lakes and rivers, and pristine beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.
