 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Implementation Science and Digital Health Interventions for ADHD and Disruptive Behavior Problems at San Diego State University

 

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position in Dissemination and Implementation Science for ADHD and Disruptive Behavior Problems under the direction of Dr. Miguel Villodas in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University and the Child & Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC)and SDSU HealthLINK Center for Transdisciplinary Health Disparities Research.

 

The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple school-based projects testing novel strategies to enhance evidence-based practice implementation in schools that support predominantly minoritized and underserved children and their families. The goal of this research is to improve access to evidence-based care for ADHD and disruptive behavior challenges among populations that are least likely to receive services, such as Black, Latine, and low-SES families. Current projects examine the use of team-effectiveness research and digital health technology to support school-based intervention implementation. Projects are being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Linda Pfiffner (UC San Francisco) and multiple school districts in Northern and Southern California.

 

The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr. Villodas and the SDSU and UCSF research teams. Their primary responsibilities will include one or more of the following activities:

·      Conducting focus groups and semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders

·      Contributing to new digital health application development and testing

·      Supervising project staff

·      Cross-site project management

·      Training and consulting with school staff on evidence-based intervention implementation 

·      Assessing implementation fidelity 

·      Data analysis

·      Disseminating study findings through authorship on manuscripts and presentations at conferences

 

Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow will engage with community partners and disseminate study findings to community stakeholders. Fellows will receive mentorship from Dr. Villodas and the study team members, access to broader training opportunities at the SDSU HealthLINK Center, UCSD ImplementatioN Science and Team Effectiveness in Practice (IN STEP) Children’s Mental Health Research and the UCSD Dissemination and Implementation Science Centers, support for conference travel, and supervised professional experience hours for Psychologist licensure.

 

Required Qualifications: 

·      PhD or equivalent in clinical, counseling or school psychology, special education, public health, social work or related field 

·      Strong interest in implementation science and the implementation of evidence-based interventions for children in schools  

·      Interest in the development of mobile health applications to support EBP implementation

·      Relevant experience with implementation training, coaching, and/or facilitation

·      Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal and organizational skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

·      Clinical experience with evidence-based interventions for children and families 

·      Advanced qualitative, quantitative, and/ or mixed methods experience  

·      Experience with community-engaged research or practice

Salary: Salary for first-year postdoctoral fellows is consistent with the University of California postdoctoral scholar salary schedule and starts at $69,073 annually, plus standard SDSU Research Foundation benefits.
