Job Description

The University of Washington (UW) Department of Psychology is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice/Director of the Psychological Services and Training Center (The Clinic). This is a non-tenure track faculty appointment.  It is a 12-month full-time position with an initial 3-year appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice level.  Title/rank will be dependent on years of experience and demonstrated success in clinical training, supervision, teaching, and administrative oversight. The appointment will begin as early as July 2025. The Clinic is a non-profit training clinic housed within the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Clinic (https://psych.uw.edu/community/the-clinic) is a critical component of UW’s top ranked Clinical Psychology doctoral program, which includes both Adult/General and Child clinical tracks. The primary responsibilities of the Clinic Director include: (a) direct administrative oversight and management of Clinic staff and day-to-day operations; (b) budgetary oversight of the Clinic; (c) indirect administrative and budgetary oversight of specialty clinics; (d) teaching required graduate coursework about psychological assessment and intervention; (e) training and supervising doctoral students in the delivery of evidence-based mental health services; (f) recruitment and oversight of clinical supervisors for the Clinic; (g) developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with the local and regional community to support student training; (h) assuring Clinic adherence to ethical and legal standards of professional conduct and APA and PCSAS accreditation standards; (i) supporting the development of structures to facilitate research in the Clinic; and (j) collaborating with the Directors of Clinical Training and clinical program faculty in the administration and oversight of a doctoral training program and clinic. Presently, the Clinic provides assessment and psychotherapy services to members of the greater Puget Sound area and Seattle community, using a low-cost sliding-scale fee system. The Clinic provides evidence-based CBT-informed training and services for a wide range of psychological disorders. Specialty clinics subsumed under the Clinic include the Marsha M. Linehan DBT Clinic, the LEARN Clinic (evidence based neuropsychological assessment), the Parent Child Clinic (behavioral parent training), and the CALM Clinic (evidence-based anxiety disorders treatment).

The base salary range for this position is $7,450 - $13,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Eligible applicants must have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA and/or PCSAS accredited program (or foreign equivalent) and be licensed or license-eligible in Washington.
