Assistant Professor of Psychology, Tenure-track (2 positions)

Job Description

Oxford College of Emory University (oxford.emory.edu) invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions in Psychology, at the rank of assistant professor, to begin August 1, 2027. We seek candidates committed to joining an academic community dedicated to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of motivated first- and second-year undergraduates, maintaining an active program of scholarship, and engaging in service broadly defined.

We anticipate that one position will focus on social psychology, broadly defined, while the second position will focus on one or more of the following areas: social psychology, health and the social determinants of health, community psychology, cognition, applied psychology, or social development. We are particularly interested in scholars who use survey, qualitative, web-based, computational, or applied methods.

Oxford College faculty teach three undergraduate courses per semester (or the equivalent), including a first-year Discovery Seminar every other year. We anticipate that at least one of the two hires will be prepared to teach Social Psychology, and both hires will be expected to teach Introduction to Psychology and a course in their area of expertise that aligns with the needs of the college. Candidates who are prepared to teach an introductory statistics course are encouraged to indicate this in their cover letter.
