The Psychology Field Group at Pitzer College is recruiting a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Psychology: Cognitive Neuroscience. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is required. The area of specialization within cognitive neuroscience is open, but we are particularly interested in
scholars whose work intersects with the core values of the college: social responsibility, intercultural understanding, interdisciplinary learning, student engagement, and environmental sustainability. Candidates should articulate these connections in the cover letter.
Teaching load is five courses per academic year and may include mid-level courses in biological and/or cognitive psychology, advanced practicum and seminar courses in the candidate’s specialty area, a contribution to our required courses, such as introductory psychology, psychological statistics, research methods, or senior capstone in ethical issues, and occasionally a writing-intensive first-year seminar.
Although the position is based in the Psychology Field Group (contributing to the biological and cognitive subfields), the successful candidate may establish informal affiliations with Cognitive Science at the Claremont Colleges and Neuroscience at the Keck Science Department.
