The Ohio State University at Newark is seeking applications for a 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor in psychology, area open, with a specialization in health psychology preferred, to begin Autumn 2019, The Newark Campus is an extended campus in The Ohio State University system and is located about 35 miles east of the central Columbus campus.
Summary of Duties:
Psychology faculty at the Newark Campus are members of the Psychology Department at The Ohio State University, and are evaluated accordingly. Hence, the successful candidate must maintain a productive and high-quality research program, which should: a) be theoretically driven, b) be compatible with the resources of the campus, and c) seek to involve the undergraduate psychology majors at the Newark Campus. The student population of the Newark Campus is approximately 2500. The successful applicant is expected regularly to teach Introductory Psychology, as well as undergraduate psychology courses in the candidate's domain of expertise. The willingness occasionally to teach other psychology courses that meet undergraduate curriculum requirements and departmental needs, such as Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience, also is desirable. Finally, the successful candidate is expected to participate actively in service/outreach activities at the Newark Campus, in the Psychology Department, and in the university.
The candidate must have a Ph.D in psychology and evidence of research productivity. The candidate should have strong teaching credentials and be committed to undergraduate education. A record of service to department and/or discipline is beneficial.
