Job Description

Postdoctoral position (full-time) in Cognitive Psychology at the Institute for Experimental Psychology, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, Germany (in the Laboratory of Ute J. Bayen, Ph.D.).

The applicant should have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field (e.g., Cognitive Science) and strong research interests and experience in any of the following areas: prospective memory, episodic memory, formal models of memory, cognitive aging, memory development in children, cross-cultural comparison of views on aging. We offer a competitive salary, benefits, and excellent research support including laboratories for behavioral, electrophysiological, and eyetracking experiments, and ample funds for research assistants, travel support etc. Teaching load is four semester hours (experimental practicum or SPSS course) and may be in English or German. Starting date for the position is October 1, 2018. The initial contract is for three years with possible renewal thereafter.

Düsseldorf is the capital of North-Rhine Westfalia, located at the Rhine, with about 600.000 citizens and ample cultural opportunities. Ranking 6th in the Mercer worldwide quality-of-living rankings 2018. International airport and rapid train connections to many European cities.

The salary will be up to pay grade 13 TV-L, depending on the qualifications of the applicant.

In principle, the employment can also be part-time, unless there are compelling official reasons opposed in the individual case.
