Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2019. This position seeks candidates from the field of Health Psychology with a focus on community-based research.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a subset of the following courses: Health Psychology, Biological Psychology, Statistics, Research Design, Advanced Research Methods, a diversity course, and/ or General Psychology and possibly courses drawn from the candidate’s area of expertise (e.g., development of a Community Psychology course). The standard teaching load for this position is two 4-unit courses per semester with an additional third course every fourth semester (2-2-2-3 over two years). The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain an active research program, preferably one that engages undergraduate students. Our department embraces the values of open and reproducible science. Candidates will also be expected to engage in service to the department, college, and university.

Minimum Requirements:

University teaching experience; evidence of a strong commitment to teaching; evidence of research and scholarship; a strong commitment to undergraduate research training; Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, earned by August, 2018; experience and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment; and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University.
