The ideal candidate’s area of specialization is industrial/organizational psychology or consumer psychology; other sub-disciplines of psychology will be considered as long as the candidate demonstrates expertise in business-related or consumer-related research topics. The candidate must have the ability to teach industrial/organizational psychology and the expertise to develop additional courses in his or her area of specialization. The candidate is expected to teach primarily undergraduate courses. Additionally, the ideal candidate will initiate and maintain interdisciplinary collaborations with the College of Business Administration and Public Policy and/or with businesses and organizations within and outside the University community.
The primary responsibilities of faculty members are to teach; maintain an active research program; advise students; and serve on departmental and university committees. Additionally, the candidate should expect to create courses in her or his specialty area. The appointment will be effective for the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, beginning in August 2019. The Department of Psychology offers a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in psychology (clinical psychology and health psychology tracks).
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
