Job Description

The University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) seeks to fill an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in Biological Psychology. We are looking for someone to teach an annual course load of 20 credits (typically 5 classes), which will include some of the following courses: Biological Psychology, Comparative Psychology, Capstone Seminar, and other courses consistent with the candidate’s expertise. Additionally, we are seeking a person who will fit with the needs of the department, which could include teaching Introductory Psychology, History of Psychology, Research Methods, and other courses to be negotiated.   Other responsibilities include supervising individual student projects, advising undergraduates, and providing service to the psychology discipline and to the campus.  The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with a demonstrated interest in the liberal arts who will engage with our students inside and outside of the classroom.  UMM emphasizes close student-faculty relationships and faculty-directed student research. An active research program is expected, and research collaboration with undergraduate students is highly valued.

 Position begins August 19, 2019. Salary and teaching load is competitive. Prefer Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field (appointment as Assistant Professor), but will consider outstanding ABD (appointment as Instructor).
