IES-Funded Postdoc in Mathematical Cognition at Kent State University
Dr. Clarissa Thompson is accepting applications for an IES-funded postdoc position within the Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University (https://www.kent.edu/psychology). The successful postdoc candidate will be involved in research on interventions aimed at improving children’s fraction understanding.
The postdoc will join a vibrant, highly collaborative, and productive intellectual community, with many unique opportunities to pursue interdisciplinary research on the Science of Learning (SOLE Center: https://www.kent.edu/sole).
Opportunities for teaching and professional development also abound (e.g., support for pilot studies and competitive grant applications, annual workshops on quantitative methods, distinguished speaker series, research methods and mathematical cognition reading groups, writing workshops, etc.).
Qualifications: The qualified applicant will have a Ph.D. in developmental or cognitive psychology or a closely related field. Preferred applicants will have previous experience conducting research with children and a strong publication track record.
The start date is negotiable, and a 2-year commitment is preferred. Starting salary is competitive.
