Job Description

The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the School of Mathematics and Sciences, beginning August 2019.

The School of Mathematics and Sciences readies students to excel in a broad range of fields, from biology and cybersecurity to social work and pre-law with many of the IT-related courses and programs offered online or in hybrid formats.

Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits per semester of undergraduate courses in Psychology and Forensic Psychology from within the curriculum, such as:

PSY 295: Research Methods & Statistics I
PSY 299: Research Methods & Statistics II
FPY 262: Forensic Psychology
FPY 400: Advanced Forensic Psychology
PSY 101: General Psychology

Additionally, responsibilities include contributing to the continuing development and refinement of the Forensic Psychology program, engaging in scholarship, establishing a program of research involving undergraduate students, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an accredited institution in Forensic Psychology, or a closely related academic field, at the time of appointment on August 12, 2019.

An ABD from an accredited institution in Forensic Psychology, or a closely related academic field, will be considered if the degree will be completed within 1 year from date of appointment.

Additional requirements include a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, a record of scholarly work or professional impact in the field of Forensic Psychology, and superior written and oral communication skills.
