Job Description

Biological Psychology: The Department of Psychology at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2019, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in Biological Psychology. While we seek candidates with expertise in all areas of Neuroscience, we are particularly interested in those who specialize in Behavioral Neuroscience and Learning. Candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred; ABD or doctorates in a closely related field will be considered. Specific teaching assignments will include introductory psychology, biological psychology, research in neuroscience and/or learning, psychological research methods, experimental statistics and courses related to specific expertise, including First Year Seminars. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence, innovation and diversity in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly activities, and close interaction with students in a small college environment. Academic advising and committee service also are expected with this appointment.
