The Diversity Sciences Lab, directed by Dr. Adrienne R. Carter-Sowell in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Texas A&M University, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research associate. This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with regular working hours, benefits, and much, much more, optimally beginning by September 2, 2019.
The Diversity Sciences Lab collaborates with four campuses in the Texas A&M System Alliance to develop, implement and study a model for historically underrepresented minority STEM doctoral candidates completing degrees, transitioning into postdoctoral fellowships, and then successfully entering and progressing in faculty careers. The TxARM alliance was created in response to the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program solicitation (NSF 16-552). The Diversity Sciences Lab is housed in the Social and Personality Psychology (SPP) program with additional resources provided by Interdisciplinary Critical Studies (ICS) and the NSF AGEP TxARM Collaborative Research Project.
Competitive candidates will have experience generating novel experimental concepts, designing, and programming experiments, analyzing data, interpreting and presenting results. The successful postdoctoral research associate will have the opportunity to conduct and publish original research derived from the multi-year projects examining how individuals from underrepresented minority groups interact with others due to perceived experiences of marginalization and social exclusion.
Complete applications should include a Curriculum Vitae (CV), a document listing the contact information for three references, and a cover letter, summarizing your research interests and experiences to date as well as your long-term career goals. Contact Dr. Carter-Sowell (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions and to submit your completed application materials.
Please send the materials in a single PDF with "TxARM Postdoctoral Position" in the subject line. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and are due by May 17, 2019 for full consideration.
