The Kleiman Lab at Rutgers (kleimanlab.org) is seeking applications for 1-2 research coordinators. We are a new (and growing!) lab in the Psychology Department at Rutgers and our work focuses on using technology like smartphones and wearable devices to predict and prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors. This position is particularly well suited for someone who wishes to gain experience prior to going to graduate school in clinical psychology. This position will involve opportunities in three main areas:
- General lab management. Duties in this area involve supporting the startup and daily operations of a newly-established research lab, including: (a) working with laboratory director to develop new laboratory protocols for data management, personnel, and general laboratory culture, (b) facilitating communication in the lab and with other labs, and (c) other general administrative duties to maintain the workings of the lab.
- Grant and study administration. Duties in this area involve supporting the regulatory components of ongoing and new grants and studies, including: (a) Preparing and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, (b) Managing grants (e.g., preparing subcontracts), and (c) assisting laboratory director in budgetary management.
- Data collection in new and ongoing studies. Duties in this area involve general research activities in several on-going studies and potentially other new studies as well, including: (a) Recruitment and screening of study participants, (b) conducting data collection as needed, and (c) assisting study therapists with scheduling and other logistics.
