Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Long School of Medicine, UT Health San Antonio is seeking a scientist for a full-time faculty position in San Antonio, Texas. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant Professor/Research on a tenure track. The applicant must have a doctoral degree in relevant fields (e.g., psychology, communication, sociology) with experience in the field of substance use disorder, expertise in mobile health technologies, and conducting public health research and training projects.


The faculty appointment will be within the Neurobehavioral Research Lab and Clinic (NRLC), Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department of Psychiatry and Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. The position will involve supporting all aspects of research within NRLC. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral training and experience in mobile health technologies and clinical trials, who possess interest in dissemination and implementation science/evaluation.


This position will involve serving as a research investigator and educator. As an investigator, the faculty member will provide support for ongoing research studies as a member of the study leadership team. The faculty member is also expected to collaborate on the development and submission of research grant applications as a co-investigator or principal investigator. As an educator, the faculty member will assist in the training, supervisor, and mentorship of residents, post-doctoral fellows, medical students, and graduate students.


Preferred qualifications include:

-Experience with modern data analytic approaches with particular emphasis on the design and analysis of mobile health studies

-Experience in grant submissions and working on federally funded research projects

-Interest in dissemination and implementation science
