About the Opportunity:

The Psychology Department in the College of Science at Northeastern University ( invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in cognitive and brain health to start in the fall of 2020 at the rank of Assistant Professor. We welcome applications in the area of cognitive neuroscience, with a focus on faculty who use neuroimaging, behavioral, and computational tools to assess intervention outcomes related to cognitive and brain health. Potential topics of interest can include lifestyle factors such as physical activity, cognitive training, social interaction, and diet, among other foci, as well as a range of populations from childhood through older adulthood in healthy individuals or patient populations.

The successful candidate will have office and shared lab space in the new Center for Cognitive and Brain Health ( in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University ( Relevant facilities include a new 3 Tesla Siemens Prisma MRI system and Center (, high density EEG systems, eye tracking, DEXA, VO2 max systems, a virtual reality system with an omni-directional treadmill, behavioral testing rooms, and a biospecimen facility.


Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and conducting an independent, externally funded research program, with interdisciplinary collaboration supported and encouraged.


Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field by the start of the appointment and a record of research commensurate with rank. Candidates should have experience in, or be able to demonstrate a commitment to, working with diverse student populations and/or in a culturally diverse work and educational environment.
