The Department of Psychology invites applications for tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in Cognitive Psychology. We are seeking candidates with an area of specialization that complements current faculty interests in the cognitive area (e.g., decision making, memory and attention, cognitive aging, learning technologies, neural architectures). Candidates using innovative methodological or analytic approaches (e.g., neuroimaging, data science, etc.) that can build on the department’s current strengths is desirable.
Successful candidates may conduct basic or applied research and will be expected to develop collaborations through strategic initiatives within UTA and established university partners. The department has active intra-institutional collaborations with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, and the School of Nursing, as well as inter-institutional collaborations with The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and The University of Texas at Dallas. All three Universities share the Advanced Imaging Resource Center at UT Southwestern (equipped with two 3 and one 7 Tesla imaging systems). In addition, there are near infrared spectroscopy and electroencephalography facilities on the UT Arlington campus.
Minimum requirements for this position include: (1) a Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology or closely related discipline; (2) strong record of publication; (3) evidence of existing funding, or potential to develop a strong research program with external funding; and (4) commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.
