Job Description

This VA Interprofessional Polytrauma and Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Research Fellowship takes place at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), which is located in Richmond, Virginia.  This fellowship is intended to train a postdoctoral fellow in the collection and analysis of neurobehavioral and neuroimaging data in Veterans with histories of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), to help advance understanding of neurobiological mechanisms by which TBI could increase risk for substance use disorder, suicidality and other comorbidities.  This training will be mentored by James M. Bjork, PhD, and will also include grantsmanship, networking, and other career development components. This fellowship will also leverage resources of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), the affiliated academic medical center.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Psychology or other Psychology, Neuroscience, or related discipline.  A clinical credential or licensure is not required for this fellowship.  Due to the eligibility requirements of this VA fellowship program, applicants must be U.S. citizens.

NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Richmond, Virginia has a lower cost of living compared to the national average. This position is contingent on funding of an internal application to the VA Interprofessional Polytrauma and Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Research Fellowship program.
