Engineering Psychology Faculty Position at Georgia Tech

 

The School of Psychology in the College of Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology announces a tenure-track professor position in the area of Engineering Psychology with a start date of August 2020. This position is open to any area of Engineering Psychology, but preference will be given to candidates who can complement or add to existing strengths within the program and department, including team cognition and team coordination, cognitive ergonomics, augmented cognition, healthcare, safety, aging, and human-technology interaction. We anticipate hiring one assistant professor, but exceptional applicants at higher ranks will also be considered. All candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in Psychology or a related field at the time of employment. Candidates should have a strong record of research productivity with the potential to build an externally-funded research program, and a commitment to teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

Our Engineering Psychology program emphasizes application-inspired foundational psychological science. Successful candidates will contribute to our mission of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Engineering Psychology and support our program in Human Factors (accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society). The Engineering Psychology program has strong connections to other Schools and programs at Georgia Tech (e.g., GVU Center, Institute for People and Technology) and in the Atlanta community, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Emory University Hospital. We also partner in the world-leading interdisciplinary GT Masters in Human-Computer Interaction.
