Job Summary:

The full-time board-certified Clinical Psychologist will work as a consultant with the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) team to provide comprehensive team-based primary care. The Clinical Psychologist will work within a defined scope of practice and provide the following services to Park High School students and Livingston HealthCare patients: work closely with primary care medical staff and LCSW staff to provide consultations, psychological assessment and diagnostic testing, diagnosis and individual therapy, case management services, referral, and follow-up for acute, chronic clients and/or patients, and consultation with outside facilities and/or agencies.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews patients in clinics, hospitals, and school settings.
  2. Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment, and provides consultation to other mental health professionals with regard to test results.
  3. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual therapies.
  4. Available for inpatient consultations at Livingston HealthCare during regular work days.
  5. Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
  6. Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
  7. Guides and contributes to organization response to crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
  8. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.
  9. Provides psychological consultations to other mental health professionals within hospitals, clinics, and other community based agencies with regard to clients and/or patient care.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. When appropriate, seeks support from and reports directly to physician. Example: CMO or Psychiatrist for complex clinical or medical matters.


Qualifications (required):

  1. Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  2. Psychometric testing experience.
  3. Must have a mature personality, sense of responsibility and integrity.
  4. Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills.
  5. Must be level headed and calm in emergencies and under stress.
  6. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  7. Able to communicate clearly, both verbal and written.
  8. Strong personal initiative required.
  9. In all matters, this person shall observe the confidentiality of patient records and information.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  2. Focus in Pediatric Psychology
  3. Experience with psychological assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems of varying severity and complexity.
  4. Proficient with psychological therapies and risk assessment.
  5. Proficient with planning and performing psychological interventions.
  6. Current awareness of developments in relevant fields.
  7. Ability to maintain and complete clinical documentation consistently.
