Job Description

The Psychology Department at Bowdoin College seeks applicants for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning July 1, 2021: one in the area of Developmental Psychology and one in Cognitive Psychology. A Ph.D. in these areas by July 1, 2021 is preferred; ABD considered. These are full-time positions with an initial appointment for one year and the possibility of renewal for an additional year, depending upon departmental needs and successful review and reappointment. Teaching responsibilities for each position will consist of two courses per semester; topics for these courses in 2021-2022 will likely include: Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Data Analysis, a topics-level course in cognitive psychology, and laboratory courses and seminars in cognitive and developmental psychology.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and a readiness to involve undergraduates in their research.
