Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, providing effective leadership in teaching, research, student success, recruitment, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department.
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited institution. The successful candidate must have a distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service that merits appointment as a Full or Associate Professor. Teaching responsibilities include a teaching load of six credit hours per semester, such as General Psychology and other Psychology courses based on the individual’s expertise and previous teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to make scholarly contributions in one or more areas of psychological science. Experience and skills in mentoring student research are especially valued. Additional preferred qualifications include successful experience in: managing budgets and personnel; curriculum development including assessment; collegial leadership; and facilitation of faculty recruitment, professional development, and promotion.
UCM, located 35 miles southeast of the Kansas City Metropolitan area, is a public comprehensive university with more than 10,000 students providing a small-college learning environment coupled with large-university opportunities. The Department of Psychological Science offers B.S and B.A degrees in Psychology, as well as a minor in Psychology and a M.S. degree in Behavior Analysis. The department has 10 full-time faculty.
