The Department of Human Factors and Behavioral Neurobiology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship for the academic year beginning in August 2023. The successful candidate will join the Human Factors program, which is fully accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Specialty area is open but candidates must have training in Human Factors and/or Psychology, and an applied research program. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests include but is not limited to applied social and cognitive psychology, individual differences/personality, applied motivation, and factors influencing technology adoption.
The ideal candidate must have a Ph.D in Human Factors or Applied Psychology or a related field by Fall 2023, a record of research productivity, an ability to attract external funding, a commitment to teaching both graduate students and undergraduates, and to mentoring Masters level and Ph.D level students in research including theses and dissertations. The department is research-oriented in Psychology, Aerospace & Transportation, Health Care, Training, Neuroscience, Ergonomics, Gaming, and Human-Computer Interaction, and expects faculty to seek external funding. The program offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D degrees in Human Factors.
