Job Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in clinical psychology to begin Fall 2024. The area of specialty is open; however, we have a preference for candidates whose research focuses on child or adolescent populations, health disparities, or traditionally marginalized or underserved populations. The successful applicant would be expected to (1) maintain a high-quality, fundable research program; (2) supervise practicum students through our on-campus training clinic; (3) teach graduate courses in clinical psychology; (4) mentor undergraduate and graduate students; (5) provide excellent instruction and research supervision; and (6) participate in curricular decisions and faculty governance; we welcome early-career applicants who demonstrate potential in these areas. The clinical psychology doctoral program (https://www.unlv.edu/psychology/graduateprograms/phd-clinical) is APA-accredited and based on a scientist-practitioner model. The Department has 34 full-time faculty members and offers a B.A. in psychology and a neuroscience minor. The Department also offers a Psychological and Brain Sciences Ph.D. program (https://www.unlv.edu/psychology/graduateprograms/phd-psychological) with cognitive, developmental, and quantitative/social/community areas of study and is affiliated with a campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program (https://www.unlv.edu/degree/phd-neuroscience). Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited scientist-practitioner or clinical science program and an APA-accredited clinical internship.
