Description: The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for an Assistant Professor-level tenure-track faculty position in the Social and Personality Psychology program to begin August 2024. We encourage applications from those already in assistant professor-level positions. Although we will consider applications from any interest area in social/personality psychology, our preference is to hire in the areas of diversity science, cultural psychology, moral psychology, and/or intergroup or interpersonal relations.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of impactful research in Social and/or Personality Psychology, a potential to secure external funding, and a capacity to contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary is competitive and research conditions are excellent. The standard teaching load for tenure-track faculty in our department is three courses per academic year.
The Psychology Department is home to a vibrant Ph.D. program in social/personality psychology and provides ample opportunities and facilities for research. UIC is home to the nation’s largest medical school, a public law school, and 16 colleges including public health and social work. There are extensive opportunities for collaboration on campus and at other universities in the Chicago metropolitan area.
