Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Columbia University invites applications for a faculty position at the tenure-track assistant professor level in social psychology to begin July 1, 2024. We seek applications from individuals conducting social psychological research in areas that complement and build on the Department’s current areas of expertise, including social cognition, affect, person perception, intergroup relations, and inequality and social justice. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated record of research productivity and teaching commensurate with the position level. Individuals with multi-method expertise, including computational approaches to the study of social behavior, psychophysiology, use of big data, and other novel methods, are especially encouraged to apply. Review of applications begins October 1, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.

Pay Transparency Disclosure

Salary range: 110,000- 125,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.  The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
