PSYCHOLOGY, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach courses related to their area of specialization (social or quantitative psychology) and courses on research methods and/or statistics for the undergraduate program. The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, an active research program, and service to the department, the university, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Social or Quantitative Psychology or a closely related field by the time of appointment; evidence of teaching and scholarly potential; ability to teach and develop a broad range of undergraduate courses in their area of psychology; ability to teach courses in research methods or statistics; demonstrated ability to contribute to the university through teaching, research, service, and fostering an inclusive environment.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications: Minimum of 1-year university teaching experience. Ability to serve as an advisor and research mentor to a diverse undergraduate student body. Evidence of strong methodological and statistical skills.
Date of Appointment: In the 2024-2025 academic year. Duties and Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in diagnosis and treatment of children, families, and/or couples, multicultural therapy, and a broad range of undergraduate courses in Psychology. Our clinical MS program prepares students for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs). The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, an active research program, and service to the Department, the College, and the University.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field by the time of appointment; CA license eligible as MFT or psychologist; evidence of ability to be successful at university teaching; program of relevant research; demonstrated ability to contribute to university through teaching, research, service, and fostering an inclusive environment.
