The Department of Psychology at Amherst College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor from candidates with a Ph.D. in developmental psychology or a related field, beginning July 1, 2025. This appointment is ideal for candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and an active research program that can involve bright undergraduates from diverse backgrounds. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on adolescence and/or emerging adulthood.  The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach courses that include introductory psychology, developmental psychology, and an advanced seminar; will supervise honors projects; and will contribute to the overall academic environment of the psychology department and the college.  The teaching load is two courses per semester.
