The Sleep Neuroscience and Cognition Lab at Baylor University (PI, Michael Scullin, PhD) is anticipating hiring a Post-Doctoral Fellow to work on a National Science Foundation grant ( abstract link ) that focuses on the interplay between sleep, creativity, learning and memory, and brain structure and function. MRI scanning will be performed on a new Philips 3T Ingenia Omega, in collaboration with co-PI Steven Nelson, PhD at the VISN 17 Center of Excellence, and include both task-based and functional connectivity MRI. Sleep facilities include a light-, sound-, and temperature-controlled laboratory with three bedrooms equipped with Grass Comet XL polysomnographic systems. The lab also includes 60 actiwatches and 7 computer testing stations. Applicants with a background in cognitive neuroscience are highly encouraged to apply. Previous experience conducting MRI protocols, analyzing both structural and functional MRI data using a combination of neuroimaging software and Matlab in a Linux/UNIX environment is preferred. The position guarantees 3 years of funding, with a salary of $47,500 beginning June 1, 2020. Review of applicants will occur on a rolling basis.
