  POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE – Next Generation Screening of Maternal Mental Health Posting Date: February 15th 2021   The Health-Omics & Perinatal Epidemiology (HOPE) Research Group at the Yale Child Study Center seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to develop Next Generation Screening approaches to identify and support pregnant people at risk for adverse mental health outcomes.   This project focuses on implementing passive data capture within an existing, longitudinal pregnancy cohort to identify digital phenotypes that better predict mental health outcomes. A second objective of this project is to integrate digital and biological phenotypes (e.g., genomics/epigenomics) in prediction models of maternal mental health and evaluate their performance versus conventional models based on questionnaire data alone. The contract is for one year, with option of renewal pending satisfactory performance. POSITION DESCRIPTION : The ideal candidate will be interested in contributing to on-going research in the lab. One trajectory broadly examines the methods, validity, interpretation, and application of measures of implicit social cognition. The other examines the development and impact of social biases in judgment, and how such biases can be reduced. Postdoctoral Position Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment Department of Psychiatry Dr. Jennifer Foss-Feig, Assistant Professor at the Seaver Autism Center at Mount Sinai, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to assist with EEG, MRI, and eye tracking studies of neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Foss-Feig’s lab investigates neural mechanisms associated with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), with an emphasis on sensory and perceptual processing abnormalities that are linked to specific mechanistic hypotheses (e.g., excitatory/inhibitory imbalance). The lab also emphasizes a cross-diagnostic approach, with a focus on exploring the overlap between ASD and schizophrenia. Additional work in the lab takes a genetics-first approach, exploring neural profiles in monogenic syndromes (i.e., Phelan- McDermid syndrome, Fragile X syndrome) that are associated with ASD.
