Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology, tenure-track
Roanoke College seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in the area of Cognitive Psychology at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August of 2020 (Ph.D. required by start date). The position consists of teaching undergraduate courses (3/3 load with one additional intensive learning course every three years), publishing research, and participating in college service. Applicants must be willing and able to teach several courses in their area (i.e., intro-level, upper-level, and/or applied cognition courses), to teach some core psychology courses (e.g. Intro, Research Methods, History of Psychology), and to contribute to Roanoke’s general education program. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach neuroscience-related courses, involve undergraduate students in their research, and attract external funding.  Roanoke College is a nationally ranked liberal arts college that maintains a Phi Beta Kappa chapter and is affiliated with the Lutheran Church (ELCA). Roanoke College, located in the beautiful Roanoke Valley of Virginia, is an equal opportunity employer and actively seeks diversity among its faculty, staff, and students; women and members of under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
