Staff Clinical Psychologist 3 $62,645.01 - $88,933.02   Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital is seeking an experienced Staff Clinical Psychologist 3 responsible for supervising programs of psychological services including program development and evaluation, training psychologists and other professionals and nonprofessionals. This individual will monitor their performance and carry out psychological programs in accord with professional and administrative standards. This candidate will provide direct high level services to clients, and participate in administrative decision making within the psychology department to the design of positive programs and supports within a multidisciplinary mental health setting serving a diverse adult population with severe and persistent mental illness.    Position requires a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology.  Preference is given to applicants with a Doctoral Degree in Psychology (PhD, PsyD, or EdD).  Must have completed one (1) year of supervised full-time clinical internship or of one (1) year of extensively supervised clinical experience. Graduate course training shall have included at least thirty (30) semester hour credits in a psychology program consisting of six (6) semester hour credits in counseling/psychotherapy, and three (3) semester hour credits in each of the following areas: individual intelligence testing, objective and/or projective testing, and abnormal psychology. At least fifteen (15) semester hour credits should be in courses relevant to clinical psychology such as learning theories, human motivation, personality theories, human growth and development, psychopharmacology, and statistics and research.   Two (2) years of responsible experience in addition to the supervised clinical internship in the field of clinical psychology in a community mental health center, mental hospital, school for the developmentally disabled, or penal, correctional, or juvenile institution, or other setting involving the use of psychodiagnostics, psychotherapy, projective techniques, and other clinical methods.    SPECIAL NOTE: One (1) year of residency (advanced training beyond internship or extensively supervised clinical experience) is considered equivalent to one (1) year of experience.   NOTE: Thirty (30) additional semester hour credits beyond the Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience which must be earned subsequent to the supervised full-time clinical internship. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health National Institute on Aging Intramural Research Program Staff Scientist The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Intramural Research Program (IRP), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is recruiting for a Staff Scientist 1 in the Health Disparities Research Section (HDRS) of the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Population Sciences in Baltimore, MD. The overall research goal of the HDRS is to conduct interdisciplinary research focused on examining health disparities among minorities and the poor and to investigate the underlying behavioral and biological factors that drive the development of health disparities. Our study, Healthy Aging in Neighborhoods of Diversity across the Life Span (HANDLS) https://handls.nih.gov/ provides a cohort for these bio-behavioral investigations. Ideally, the incumbent will have expertise in behavioral science with specialized experience in cognition, socio-demographic factors associated with cognitive functioning within the context of aging and health disparities. The incumbent will also assist in translational studies that examine biologic transduction pathways through which social determinates of health result in impaired cognitive function, health, and well-being.   Relevant research experience and peer-reviewed publications in the topic of cognition, behavior, social determinates of health and aging are a plus. Excellent written and oral (English) communication skills are also required. In addition, incumbent should have demonstrated knowledge and experience in multivariable and longitudinal statistical approaches to epidemiologic data, and fluency with programs for analyzing data such as R. The incumbent will have a major role in assisting the Principal Investigator in project management, manuscript preparation, experimental design, training of junior fellows, providing technical assistance, and maintaining research continuity within HDRS. Staff Scientists do not receive independent resources, although they often work independently and have sophisticated skills and knowledge essential to support the work of the Laboratory and the Principal Investigator.
