Assistant Professor, 1-Year Visiting Position
  The Department of Psychology at The College of Wooster invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Psychology at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2020. The successful applicant will teach courses in their area of interest; we are open to all areas but are particularly interested in someone with interests in experimental or cognitive neuroscience. We are especially interested in hiring faculty who can contribute to the intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (21% domestic students of color and 15% international students); all applicants are expected to discuss their experience working with diverse student populations.  The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to teach courses and advise research projects in diverse areas of Psychology. They will teach the equivalent of 6 courses, including courses in their area of interest and credited supervision of independent thesis projects as part of the College’s Independent Study program. Ph.D. by appointment date and experience mentoring undergraduates are preferred. A commitment to undergraduate teaching is necessary. The post-doc will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing, funded research that spans multiple areas within the field of social psychology and neuroscience. The ideal candidate will have experience in cognitive and affective neuroscience, strong quantitative and statistical training, and an interest in understanding social decision-making and learning.
