Stony Brook University seeks a full-time postdoctoral fellow to conduct research with Dr. Roman Kotov (Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology) and a diverse team of investigators. Duration and start time are negotiable. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a position on a research program with responders to the World Trade Center disaster. The program includes multiple studies that investigate the interplay between personality, mental health, and physical health. These are longitudinal, multifaceted projects with sample sizes ranging from 450 to 10,000 patients. Extensive longitudinal data are available on personality traits, psychiatric symptoms, medical conditions, life stress, real-world functioning, treatment, and biomarkers. Database of systematic evaluations includes over 100,000 observations. Biomarkers include results of GWAS, EWAS, TWAS, proteomics, actigraphy, and natural language analyses. The fellow will work closely with advisory board to the program (Brent Roberts, Daniel Klein, Lee Anna Clark, Michael Bagby, Michael Zvolensky, Patricia Conrod, and Richard Zinbarg) on data analyses and papers. One planned project is a paper articulating guidelines for treatment based on hierarchical taxonomy of psychopathology. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for supervising staff, conducting analyses, preparing manuscripts, writing grants, and designing new studies. Ongoing training will be available in statistical methods, grantsmanship, and substantive questions related to psychopathology, personality, and biomarkers. Clinical opportunities are also available, as well as supervision meeting licensure requirements. Stony Brook University is a highly collaborative environment with close relationships between departments of psychology, psychiatry, and medicine. Qualifications include a 1) doctoral degree, 2) expertise in psychopathology, personality, or health research, as well as 3) a minimum of two first-authored publications. Familiarity with longitudinal research and experience coordinating externally-funded studies are desirable. To apply, please email Roman Kotov ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) with your CV and contact information of three references. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
