A postdoctoral position is available starting January 18, 2020 for conducting human neuroimaging research in alcoholism risk in the laboratory of David A. Kareken Ph.D. (Neurology, Indiana University School of Medicine).  Funding for the position is through Indiana University’s NIAAA T32 training grant, with the position needing to be filled on or before May 31, 2020 .   Research in the Kareken lab uses both fMRI and PET to measure dopamine transmission.  The work is aimed at understanding human reward circuit vulnerabilities to alcoholism, and the relationship between reward circuit function and laboratory-based alcohol self-administration.  Additional work in the laboratory includes novel connectivity-based analyses.  Postdoctoral training occurs in the context of Indiana University’s NIAAA-funded Alcohol Research Center, which comprises a broad array of collaborative interdisciplinary human and animal research broadly aimed at discovering the genetic determinants of alcohol use and the responses to alcohol intoxication. Postdoctoral Fellow in Gesture Research at the University of Alberta
A postdoctoral position in gesture research is available in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta, working with Dr. Elena Nicoladis and Dr. Paula Marentette. This project is focused on understanding the relationship between visual analysis of a scene, language choice, and gesture production. Knowledge of a language other than English and/or experience with eye-tracking would be assets. The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking a faculty member in the tenure-earning rank of Assistant/Associate Member with preference for strong expertise in behavioral statistics. Moffitt is affiliated with the University of South Florida and a University appointment is available in the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor as applicable. The Department currently has 18 faculty and approximately 27 staff engaged in a wide range of statistical and bioinformatics research and collaborations on clinical, biological, and behavioral studies in cancer and cancer prevention including novel therapeutic and drug discoveries, prognostic and predictive biomarker developments, chemoprevention, high throughput genomics, proteomics, epidemiological studies, health outcomes and behavioral research, comparative effectiveness research, clinical trial designs, and personalized medicine studies. Many of these projects draw upon Moffitt’s Total Cancer Care initiative, which provides access to a comprehensive set of clinical and molecular data on a large number of cancer patients.
