Assistant Professor, 1-Year Visiting Position

Postdoctoral Fellow in Gesture Research at the University of Alberta

A postdoctoral position in gesture research is available in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta, working with Dr. Elena Nicoladis and Dr. Paula Marentette. This project is focused on understanding the relationship between visual analysis of a scene, language choice, and gesture production. Knowledge of a language other than English and/or experience with eye-tracking would be assets. Behavioral Statistics Open Rank Faculty

The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking a faculty member in the tenure-earning rank of Assistant/Associate Member with preference for strong expertise in behavioral statistics. Moffitt is affiliated with the University of South Florida and a University appointment is available in the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor as applicable. Methodological research is also expected. The Department currently has 18 faculty and approximately 27 staff engaged in a wide range of statistical and bioinformatics research and collaborations on clinical, biological, and behavioral studies in cancer and cancer prevention including novel therapeutic and drug discoveries, prognostic and predictive biomarker developments, chemoprevention, high throughput genomics, proteomics, epidemiological studies, health outcomes and behavioral research, comparative effectiveness research, clinical trial designs, and personalized medicine studies. Many of these projects draw upon Moffitt’s Total Cancer Care initiative, which provides access to a comprehensive set of clinical and molecular data on a large number of cancer patients. WIU's traditional residential campus in Macomb, Illinois, is the educational, cultural and athletic center of the region, while the WIU-Quad Cities non-residential branch campus in Moline, Illinois, is the only public university in the immediate Quad Cities region. More than 66 undergraduate degree programs, nearly 40 graduate programs and two doctoral programs prepare students for a successful career after graduation. Outside the classroom at Western, concerts, lectures, presentations, films, dance performances and more are performed each year, along with numerous major theatrical and dance productions and studio shows, as well as a variety of service-oriented projects and activities, all in a diverse and inclusive campus environment. The University's athletics program, based on the Macomb campus, sponsors 19 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's and women's varsity sports. Football competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision through the Missouri Valley Football Conference; all other varsity sports compete at the Division I level through The Summit League. WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 6,432): A traditional, residential four-year campus with offering a comprehensive slate of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between).
