  The Department of Psychology at The College of Wooster invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Psychology at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2020. The successful applicant will teach courses in their area of interest; we are open to all areas but are particularly interested in someone with interests in experimental or cognitive neuroscience. We are especially interested in hiring faculty who can contribute to the intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (21% domestic students of color and 15% international students); all applicants are expected to discuss their experience working with diverse student populations.  The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to teach courses and advise research projects in diverse areas of Psychology. They will teach the equivalent of 6 courses, including courses in their area of interest and credited supervision of independent thesis projects as part of the College’s Independent Study program. Ph.D. by appointment date and experience mentoring undergraduates are preferred. A commitment to undergraduate teaching is necessary. Applicants should submit a letter of application; curriculum vitae; unofficial graduate transcripts; evidence of strong teaching (such as teaching philosophy, syllabi and student evaluations, if applicable) and research (such as research statement and writing sample of 25 pages or less); a statement detailing how the applicant has engaged and/or expects to engage with issues of diversity and inclusion in the classroom and the curriculum, as well as on campus and in the broader community; and three reference letters through Interfolio.
