The fellow will work with the PI and her multidisciplinary team of collaborators on a large NIH-funded randomized control trial “Connect through PLAY” (Connect), a staff-based intervention that works with afterschool programs across the state of South Carolina to promote healthy behaviors among adolescents and program staff within underserved communities. The goal of this NIA-funded program is to train the next generation of scientists in psychosocial determinants and biological pathways that underlie healthy and unhealthy aging. All Fellows take part in a regular seminar and coursework; participate in professional development activities; and have the opportunity to take courses in innovative research methods.
