The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for Academic Year 2022-2023. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 28, 2023. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology or other terminal degree. Highly qualified applicants with a master’s degree related to Psychology will be considered. The position will require the incumbent to teach three courses per semester (fall and spring) in Psychology, including our introductory course Psychology as a Natural Science, and other courses such as Behavior Principles, Drugs and Behavior, Memory and Cognition, and Conditioning and Learning. CLINICAL RESEARCH PSYCHOLOGIST The Department of Veterans Affairs is accepting applications for a licensed psychologist to lead the Clinical Science Core of the VISN 17 Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans. The psychologist will serve as a senior leader of the Center, overseeing a team of researchers, technicians, and support staff. They will also supervise and conduct research projects either as a principal investigator or research collaborator in topics related to psychological factors associated with mental illnesses in Veterans and their treatment. The Program Manager will successfully apply for grants and/or other extramural funding.
