  The BAND lab is currently seeking a well-qualified post-doctoral scholar to join the research team. This work led us to hypothesize that pharmacological treatments that affect social processes could be paired with psychosocial treatments to possibly achieve synergistically enhanced outcomes. The Northwestern University Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) program is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow.  We are looking for someone with research interests in psychosis risk syndromes. The Reed College Department of Psychology seeks applicants for a two-year position in SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY to begin August 2020. The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Division of Behavioral and Social Research (BSR), seeks a senior behavioral or psychological scientist to serve as Chief of the Individual Behavioral Processes Branch (IBP) (https://www.nia.nih.gov/research/dbsr/individual-behavioral-processes-branch). The Individual Behavioral Processes Branch (IBP) in the Division of Behavioral and Social Research (BSR) of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) is recruiting a dynamic and experienced psychological or behavioral scientist to manage and develop a portfolio of innovative grant-supported research and research training in psychological development and integrative science. BSR offers a scientifically energizing and collegial environment with opportunities to develop research initiatives; cultivate a portfolio of grant-supported research; lead and participate in transdisciplinary research collaborations; and develop scientific programming (e.g., symposia, special journal issues, conferences, and workshops). The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for developing and managing a portfolio of research grants on integrative approaches to understanding psychological aging, with a focus on biobehavioral and biosocial mechanisms or process that contribute to optimal aging outcomes. Topics include personality and non-cognitive skills, emotional function, subjective well-being, stress processes, and the impact – and potential reversibility – of early life adversity on aging-relevant outcomes. The portfolio emphasizes research combining multiple levels of analysis and examining reciprocal interactions among these levels with potential to delineate the basic mechanisms governing these behaviors and processes. Examples include (1) research on the neurobiological and physiological pathways through which psychosocial stress impacts behavior and physical or psychological health, (2) biobehavioral research on affective and socioemotional influences on behavioral and functional aging, and (3) the biobehavioral processes that support optimal aging, resilience, and well-being. Behavioral phenotypes (e.g. personality, self-regulation, affect) and social/interpersonal relationships are investigated as causal variables and as mediators or moderators of the relation between behavioral and social factors and aging-relevant outcomes. Research that takes a life course perspective on these topics is emphasized. Responsibilities include: • Scientific administration throughout the grants process, including reviewing and approving progress reports. • Identifying significant research findings and communicating results to NIA leadership and other audiences. • Proposing future program emphases and developing Funding Opportunity Announcements. • Communicating about NIA program emphases and the NIH grant process to the research community. • Presenting and justifying funding plans to NIA leaders and the National Advisory Council on Aging. • Participating in initiatives related to the NIA Strategic Plan, working with NIA and NIH colleagues, staff from other agencies, and stakeholders from the private sector and other levels of government.

The Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) at the University of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for two Postdoctoral Fellowships in youth development and learning across multiple ecological contexts with an emphasis on diversity, opportunity, and equity. The initial appointment will be two years with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The position involves work on several multi-method longitudinal research projects exploring how sociocultural and psychological factors influence youth of color’s identity development, academic learning, and socioemotional wellbeing during middle childhood and adolescence. The work takes an interdisciplinary approach and applies questions and methods from psychological and developmental science to elementary and secondary school settings. Applicants must have a doctorate and a track record of publication in psychology or education, substantive knowledge and background in the field of developmental psychology, child/adolescent development, or learning science, and excellent academic writing and analytic skills. With a treatment philosophy grounded in the principles of Family Based Treatment, we offer outpatient care, medical stabilization, and an intensive outpatient program.  Clinical experiences are available across all levels of care. Fellows will work collaboratively with other mental health providers and disciplines within the fields of medicine, education, and community professionals. Research focuses on neuro-cognition in anorexia, social reward in eating disorders, and sex differences in eating disorders. The Shifting Perspectives study is investigating whether or not adding Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) to Family Based Treatment improves outcome in adolescents with anorexia nervosa. In the first two years of this project we are focused on evaluating whether or not CRT significantly improves flexibility. The post-doctoral fellow will deliver treatment to families in the study and will be responsible for all appropriate documentation of treatment delivery. It is anticipated that the fellow will carry a caseload of approximately 12 families. Pediatric Consultation Center and Associates is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow (PsyD or PhD) for our growing outpatient private practice in Deerfield. A full-time, W-2 position, with benefits is currently available.  PCCA is anestablished private practice offering individual neuropsychological evaluations, therapy for children and adolescents, parent consultation and family therapy. The position includes providing child and adolescent psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, as well as the opportunity to carry a small caseload of therapy clients. An approximate split of 80% testing and 20% therapy is offered, but can be tailored to an applicants’ interest. PCCA also works within the Lake and Cook county courts to complete custody and court ordered evaluations. An interest in family law is a plus, although not required for this position. The Georgetown Laboratory for Relational Cognition anticipates hiring 1 to 2 postdoctoral researchers for NSF-funded projects applying cognitive neuroscience methods at the intersection of education and creativity. These projects are focused on 1) application of neuromodulation with the goal of enhancing both domain-general and scientific creative thinking; and 2) application of neuroimaging with the goal of identifying neural biomarkers of classroom education-based learning that may add value to traditional academic measurement in predicting scientific achievement. In collaboration with laboratories at Johns Hopkins and Penn State, this work will also involve the development a new classroom-based assessment of scientific creative thinking, and application of network neuroscience to predict creative cognitive performance.   Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or anticipate a Ph.D. by spring of 2020.
