Full-Time Lab Manager / Research Assistant
The Social & Affective Neuroscience Lab at Brown University (Lab Director : Oriel FeldmanHall) invites applications for a full-time lab manager / research assistant. Job Description: Primary responsibilities include: (1) data acquisition using behavioral, psychophysiological, and brain imaging techniques (2) subject recruitment and screening; (3) management and analysis of datasets; and (4) managing the lab and performing administrative duties, including IRB documentation. Education and Experience Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, cognitive science, computer science, neuroscience or related field is required. 1-2 years of related research experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Job Competencies An ability to work independently with good judgment Organizational and time management skills is required Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Qualtrics is required A high degree of familiarity with programs such as Eprime, SPSS, R, Matlab, SPM (or FSL), Acqknowledge and BIOPAC systems is especially valued but not required Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community Background Check All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal  background  check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University.

Post-Doctoral Research Associate
The Social & Affective Neuroscience Lab at Brown University (Lab Director : Oriel FeldmanHall) invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate (renewable one year appointment, start date flexible). Our lab uses behavioral, neuroimaging and psychophysiological techniques to explore the cognitive and neural basis of social decision-making (read more at FeldmanHallLab.com ). The post-doc will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing, funded research that spans multiple areas within the field of social psychology and neuroscience. The ideal candidate will have experience in cognitive and affective neuroscience, strong quantitative and statistical training, and an interest in understanding social decision-making and learning. The strongest applications will not only have a deep interest in moral cognition and social learning, but will also be creative and independent, taking innovative approaches to the study of social cognitive processes and their neural basis, especially with a focus of learning under social uncertainty. The position will include some freedom to develop and lead new research within the broader aims of the lab. Education & Experience Required: Doctor of Philosophy Degree in neuroscience, psychology, economics or a related field. Prior experience with fMRI data analysis is highly preferred, and proficiency in Matlab, R or equivalent is required.
