The Laboratory for Relational Cognition at Georgetown, directed by Dr. Adam Green, is seeking a postdoctoral scientist for an NSF-funded position conducting brain-based research at the intersection of creativity and education. Applications are invited for an NSF-funded postdoctoral position in the Georgetown Laboratory for Relational Cognition, focused on brain-based research at the intersection of creativity and education. This multi-year position will involve neurostimulation, guided by and in combination with neuroimaging, to enhance both domain-general and scientific creative thinking. In collaboration with laboratories at Johns Hopkins and Penn State, this position will also involve the development of a new classroom-based assessment of scientific creative thinking, application of network neuroscience to predict scientific and domain-general creative thinking, and identification of neural biomarkers of learning that may add value to traditional academic measurement in predicting scientific achievement. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or anticipate a Ph.D. by spring of 2020. The anticipated start date for the position is early fall or late summer of 2020. Favorable consideration will be given to applicants with a strong record of productivity and with experience or substantial interest in the following areas: creativity, education, neurostimulation, neuroimaging and/or electrical recording methods, and advanced statistical data analysis.
