The Center for Translational Cognitive Neuroscience ( http://sites.bu.edu/ctcnlab/ ) at the VA Boston Healthcare System, affiliated with the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Center ( https://www.bu.edu/alzresearch/ ), is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research fellow. The core mission of the center is to use cognitive neuroscience research to improve the lives of those with Alzheimer’s disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, and other late life cognitive and emotional brain disorders. Current research projects involve (1) the use of EEG, event-related potentials (ERPs), gaze tracking, structural MRI, and amyloid PET scans to detect and accurately diagnose mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease, (2) developing cognitive strategies to compensate for changes in memory using strategies, mindfulness, and iPad games, and (3) understanding the cognitive neuroscience of false memories and their clinical implications in daily life of Alzheimer’s disease patients. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in all aspects of the research projects, including study design, collection of data (behavioral, EEG, gaze tracking, imaging, and clinical), data analysis, and manuscript preparation. The fellow will be an author on all publications/studies on which they worked. The fellow is expected to stay for 2 to 3 years (the position is funded for three years) and is renewable depending on availability of funds and satisfactory performance. Successful applicants will have demonstrated research interests in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, strong experimental and statistical training, and ability to write papers, grants, and IRB protocols. A record of publishing research is preferred but not required. Knowledge of ERP and/or structural MRI analysis methods, eye movements, and experimental design with E-Prime are preferred but not required. The applicant should be highly motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline when they start. The position is open now. Application Procedure: Please send letter of interest and curriculum vitae to Dr. Andrew Budson ( email@example.com ).
