The Department of Psychology, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Developmental Neuropsychology , broadly defined. The appointment will begin July 1, 2020, or shortly thereafter. The successful applicant must have received a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field by the start date of the appointment, or shortly thereafter and demonstrate evidence of excellence in both teaching and research. Candidates must conduct research with humans. Researchers who conduct studies with special populations are strongly encouraged to apply, especially if their work is lab-based and has clinical and/or applied relevance. The successful candidate will have a rigorous program of research that focuses on the relationship between brain and behaviour in any developmental period(s) - from the prenatal period to adolescence, in an area of Psychology that complements and expands the breadth of our program . Candidates must have a strong research program in developmental neuropsychology that demonstrates both theoretical and methodological excellence that complements ongoing research in the department. A record of excellence in research will be demonstrated by high quality contributions in top-ranked and field-relevant academic journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards, and other honours, as well as strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated through a teaching dossier, to include a teaching statement, sample syllabi and teaching evaluations, documenting the candidate's contributions to teaching and learning, as well as strong reference letters. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally competitive, active, innovative, independent, externally funded program of research and to contribute to the education and training of undergraduate students as well as graduate students enrolled in the tri-campus University of Toronto Psychology Graduate Program. There will be opportunities to collaborate with UTM psychologists in research clusters focused on Behavioural Neuroscience, Developmental Science, Perception Cognition and Language, and/or Health, Adaptation and Well-being, as well as with researchers on all three campuses of the University of Toronto.
