Position Summary The Department of Psychology at   SUNY   Geneseo is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an emphasis in cognitive and affective neuroscience to begin August, 2020. The department is particularly interested in candidates who would teach courses to meet department needs and bring scholarly expertise that complements the expertise of other faculty members in the department. Among the goals of the search is increasing the diversity of the faculty in the Department of Psychology, and we therefore welcome applicants who are from groups that are historically underrepresented at the College. Duties of the position include: • Teach undergraduate courses in cognitive and affective neuroscience, adolescent development, research design and analysis, and upper-division classes in area of expertise • Pursue a research program relevant to cognitive and affective neuroscience, with involvement of undergraduate students • Contribute to the department and neuroscience program through advisement, course offerings, and administrative duties • Contribute to department functioning through committee service • Contribute service to the college, discipline, and/or community To apply: http://jobs.geneseo.edu/postings/2893 Required Qualifications • Doctoral degree (PhD) in neuroscience or psychology conferred by August 2020 • Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in field of expertise • Evidence of a research program relevant to cognitive and affective neuroscience with the capability for involving undergraduate researchers • Must demonstrate a commitment to fostering and working within a diverse and inclusive environment Preferred Qualifications • Scholarly expertise in cognitive and affective neuroscience from a developmental perspective that complements the expertise of other faculty members in the department • Teaching experience in cognitive and affective neuroscience, research design and analysis, and adolescent development • Evidence of effective teaching of undergraduate courses in psychology
