The Psychology Department at Furman University announces a one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin August, 2021, with the potential for renewal. Qualified candidates must be able to teach Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, and an intermediate-level course in their area of training and expertise. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can teach one of our existing intermediate-level courses such as social psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, adulthood and aging, or psychology of gender . The teaching load is five courses per year divided over two semesters. Our work focuses on (1) the development and impact of social and emotional skills among diverse populations, including education settings and organizations, and (2) the mechanisms by which social and emotional skills and training impact significant life outcomes.
