The University of Chicago Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time Instructional Professor (lecturer) to begin in Academic Year 2020-21. The Instructional Professor (lecturer) will be responsible for teaching 6 quarter-long undergraduate classes. Assignments may include introductory survey-level classes and upper level elective seminars in psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach a wide range of classes in different areas of psychological science, including undergraduate level statistics, but the area of specialization is open. Instructional Professors (lecturers) are also expected to participate on occasion in co-curricular and service activities that help support the undergraduate teaching mission of the department. The position requires a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline focusing on basic research questions in psychology, and a record of effective undergraduate teaching. Candidates are also required to show a demonstrated record designing and teaching courses to undergraduate and graduate students at a selective college or university.
